One Estate
KORAJE comes from a smallish single estate in Jaén, Andalusia, Spain. The estate is in the heart of the Sierra Mágina region and is accredited to one of Spain's most celebrated olive oil designations, PDO Sierra Magina.
Here, the elevations exceed 700 meters. Olive cultivation is shaped by altitude, Mediterranean subtropical to temperate climate, and a rugged terrain- the ideal conditions for high-quality olive cultivation.
This is a traditional high-altitude mountain grove owned and cultivated by the Montabes Vaño family for over half a century. Their approach is deliberate and accountable.
Across approximately 700 hectares, many trees have stood for centuries. Personal care of each tree yields an extra virgin olive oil of genuine character, harvest after harvest.
The Estate
The estate grows the Picual variety exclusively. Picual is known for its exceptional thermal and oxidative stability, naturally high polyphenol content, and an intense green-fruity aroma that defines a genuinely fresh early-harvest extra virgin olive oil.
The estate-owned mill is where only estate-grown olives are processed immediately after harvest, which guarantees the extra virgin olive oil of optimum quality and traceability, from tree to the bottle.
The oil quality manifests generations of direct knowledge of this land, variety, climate, and craftsmanship, frequently recognized in the Flos Olei guide and multiple international awards. Flos Olei is the most authoritative global agency to recognize the best olive oil quality.
What unites us is a common passion for olive oil, respect for the terroir and people who tend it, and commitment to transparency and sustainability.
