The PDO verifies/ guarantees, and protects the production process, the origin, and the quality of the extra virgin olive oil within the region. Remember, only extra virgin olive oil can use the PDO seal.

The regulatory actions of the PDO are carried out through specifications of Certioleo Foundation (www.certioleo.com), which is accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) under the EN ISO17065 quality standard.

The technical team in the Regulatory Council of the PDO assists the olive growers and producers with integrated pest management.

PDO has its own physico-chemical and organoleptic laboratories, which perform the quality control tests on the extra virgin olive oils produced by the members registered in the PDO.
